My Bio
Meredith Dobro is a 5-time Telly Award winning producer who has written, produced and directed numerous television programs based out of Boston, MA and West Palm Beach, FL. Growing up in Lakewood, OH and coming from parents working in Cleveland advertising agency and corporate marketing departments, she determined at an early age what her future career would be and focused on opportunities to grow her skills.
Meredith earned a Bachelor of Science specializing in Mass Communications from Miami University (in Ohio) where she worked all 4 years at a college music store and volunteered for several extracurricular advertising, marketing and PR clubs. Her first career-based job was working 40 hours per week at an unpaid internship in Account Services for Arnold Advertising in Boston, and later she accepted a Broadcast Coordinator position at that same agency 2 weeks after graduation during a national economic recession.
Her promotional and press writing skills have garnered Meredith the opportunities to work on-staff at 5 top, news-oriented radio and TV stations in Boston and West Palm Beach. She produced 4 independent films in the Boston area and secured many Southeast Florida area locations for a feature film called “My Big Phat Hip-Hop Family”. Meredith has also worked as a Production Coordinator, Location Manager, Wardrobe Stylist and Casting Director for hundreds of TV show broadcasts, marketing videos and infomercials. She started Dobro Enterprises in 2010 as an umbrella for all her freelance work in addition to staff jobs.
Now Meredith is back in Cleveland continually welcoming work challenges with a positive attitude. She most recently worked as a Casting Assistant for 2 major feature films: “Untitled Fred Hampton Project” produced by Warner Bros. and “Cherry”, directed by the Russo brothers. She also spearheaded the Fall-Wintertime casting and bookings of over 200 1950’s – 1960’s car and truck owners for Angela Boehm Casting and used her PR skills to locate talent, grow the casting agency’s proprietary database, and help advertise her boss' actor teaching opportunities, which sold out in a matter of days. Digital skills include writing social media networking and posts, creating SEO savvy content for promotion of You Tube videos, and blogging for market influencers, companies and products both in Florida and Ohio. Her professionalism, integrity, industry resources, extensive on-set experience and eye for creative content and concepting is valued among companies large and small.
In her spare time, Meredith enjoys playing tennis, attending baseball games, downhill skiing, hiking, kayaking on the Great Lakes, watching movies, volunteering for causes and cultural events, winning at Scrabble and attending rock and alternative music concerts.
